I have been so neglectful of this site I actually began taking steps to take it offline entirely with a view to rewriting it a fresh. I figured I needed a project to work on outside of my boring, souless day job and this would even benefit my job hunting...

...But then a miracle happened! Last August I was offered a full time position as graphic designer for one of my freelance clients. He matched my current wage and promised me creative freedom in the role. Needless to say I took the job and haven't looked back since.

This did, however, remove the urgency to rewrite this site and I am ashamed to say I still haven't done anything to updated it... Until now that is. "Why now?" I hear you ask. Well, quite out of the blue I received an email via my website from a school teacher who said she and her class were searching the internet for web design resources and came across this site. She said her class thought my Links page could benefit from my adding a link to a page they found particularly helpful. I was flattered they took the time to look at my site and even more so that they cared enough to contact me to share their experience.

So please check of the new web resource link on my Links page curtesy of Sandy Fiato and the students of Bright Futures Charter School.

Thanks guys.

I've not updated this site for over a year now! I have come to realise the need to build myself a much more simplified website that will showcase my portfolio, provide contact details and nothing more. As such I have began to design my new site which its prime goal will be to do just that. Hopefully it will have it up and running in the next few weeks so watch this space!

The last seven months have flew by so fast I hardly noticed it! I have suffered swine flu, our house extension was finished, we have completely remodeled our back garden, my brother announced his engagement and impending marriage to his beautiful girlfriend and I still have been unable to update my portfolio pages... Until now: I am making a supreme effort to add all the corporate brochure, signage and website work I have completed, as well as all the comic work I have done with my buddy Mark.

You may remember from my last news update that Mark and I were working towards producing a portfolio of comic art to submit to 2000AD and Games Workshop. Well we went one better and attended a Comic Con in Bristol last month taking our portfolio along with the intention of drumming up interest or at the very least gain some pointers for improvement. The whole event was a great success for us, not only managing to get some very favourable comments and email addresses from a number of publishing housing (including 2000AD) but we sat down and had a beer with two comic artist we grew up reading and striving towards producing quality art to match theirs: none other than Simon Bisley and Greg Staples who both offered some very encouraging advice and criticisms.

Look out for the updated Portfolio pages which will hopefully show the fruits of my labour in the next weeks.

It has been far too long since my last update and I have been woefully neglectful of my site - in fact would you believe it has been almost 12 whole months since I last entered any new content into my galleries! Not because I haven't got any new content to upload but because I haven't had time or energy to upload any of what I have done.

"So what have you done?" I hear you cry. Well I have produced a number of rendered comic art pieces in partnership with my buddy Mark. We intend to submit some of our work to 2000AD and Games Workshop in the hopes that they will give us a script to illustrate. We have just put together a portfolio of our best work and will be sending it off fairly soon so fingers crossed there.

I have also done a number of posters, adverts, animations and photshop jobs. Most of which I will probably not upload... They have all been pretty unremarkable, just serving the purpose of providing me with a little pocket money.

Our plans for a house extension were put on hold when when we got quotes from builders that were well out of our affordable price range until one builder under cut the others by £10k! So we are go for launch and are currently more than half way through the build. Should be finished by Christmas.

In the coming weeks look out for new content added to my portfolio. At the very least I intend to add Mark and my new comic art. Remember you can view all images completed to date in my Toons gallery click here to go directly to it.

As 2008 draws to its conclusion I am pleased to report back to you some developments: I have been approached with a few projects. 1st is a brochure I actually started working on at the beginning of 2007 that the client abandoned for personal reasons. Then I have a couple of websites to knock out. Finally there is my ongoing comic art rendering partnership with my very talented friend, part time artist and full time copper Mark Holland. This latest one is shaping up to be our best yet. Remember you can view all images completed so far in my Toons gallery click here to go directly to it.

Aside from all these projects, I am also planning to embark on managing a significant house extension to my humble abode. This will hopefully afford me a more comfortable working environment from which to conduct these projects.

Wow! Half way through 2008 already! Let me bring you up to speed: Currently I have a couple or three things on the go. Ongoing is my comic art rendering partnership with my very talented friend, part time artist and full time copper Mark Holland. You can view all images completed so far in my Toons gallery click here to go directly to it.

I have started work on building a website for a car and vehicle interior and upholsterer specialist. As soon as I've finished, and if the owner has no objection, I'll add it to my Business Identity gallery.

I am also working on a few personal cartoon and illustration projects which when finished I will also add to my Toons gallery.

Notably being my second post of 2008 and it now being almost half-way through the year I feel compelled to apologies again for my seeming lack of creative activity. The fact is I have been caught up in a few family tragedies over the past few months with one or two relatives and pets passing away, and one cancer scare.

Despite all this I have endeavored to continue with my art work and have now completed my third rendering job in partnership with my comic artist buddy. See the gallery here.

24/02/2008

This is my first post in 2008!! It is a brand New Year with brand new challenges. My latest project is with a college buddy of mine who is damn good at Warhammer 40000 art and asked if I'd be interested in inking some of his sketches. We have collaborated on a couple of images so far and the results are pretty darn good. As soon as we have a few more images I'll add a gallery to my Miscellaneous toons and illustrations page.

I have also, after long last, updated my Business Identity and Advertising gallery to include the work I have completed for Walsh Chiropody & Podiatry. Check it out here.

01/12/2007

Well hello! This time I have a very excuse why it has been another two months since my last update: My computer became poorly and has been residing in a rehabilitation clinic in Malibu. It has since made a full recovery and is fighting fit once more!

Work-wise things have been pretty quiet. I was approached by a work colleague to produce a table setting card for a husband's birthday bash, which will appear in the portfolio section soon along with the work I have been doing for my Chiropodist client. Keep tuning back in for more sporadic updates!

11/08/2007

Again I have to apologies for being so woefully negligent of this "What am I doing now?!" bit. Sorry it has been a couple of months since my last update. You may remember I was trying to sell my house and move to a better area? Well the house is still unsold and we are still unmoved! In the mean time I have been doing a couple of small stationary and brochure design orders for a local chiropodist who is affiliated with my missus and her beauty salon. I've also been putting together a portfolio website for a photographer friend of mine. Neither are complete yet but I will post links in my portfolio section as soon as they are.

26/06/2007

Sorry it been a couple of months since my last check in... I'm in the process of selling my house and moving into a better area with the missus so she can expand her Beauty Salon empire. Being subjected to endless negotiations with potential mortgage lenders have rendered the rational side of my brain useless, and thus leaving me to conduct my day-to-day business with my irrational imaginative side. Can't tell if people are looking at me funny or whether they are just... well... funny looking... time will tell.

16/04/2007

I have been randomly selected from the millions of registered UK voters to perform Jury Service. I say "HANG THE BASTARDS!! They're as guilty as Chocolate cake a double cream!"

Mmmm... cake.

20/03/2007

Since I completed my Stufft portfolio pages I have found myself wondering around the house aimlessly with no ultimate goal left to achieve I have thrown myself into working on my Missus Beauty Solon's marketing.

The Essentials Beauty Salon in Castle Bromwich, Birmingham is expanding and with it, its list of treatments. Which means adverts posters, new price lists and treatment menus. Check out the website here.

Today holds a momentous occasion: I have finally finished my Photography gallery. This iconic achievement marks the completion of Phase 1 of my website. Please do have a good look around and tell all your friends to come see too.

As always I invite you to comment, critique and praise my offerings. You can email me at any of the contact points on my Contact page.

20/02/2007

Started work on my final gallery today. My Photography gallery will be the last category I need to upload to make my site complete. But don't worry I will be constantly updating it once it is completed. Just keep checking back.

16/02/2007
My Toons gallery is finally ready for public viewing. This is by far my proudest work so do please go and enjoy, examine, critique, scrutinise and then comment on any and all of my efforts. I welcome all debate as long as its lively

Took some time off from the website recently to enjoy a short break in Spain and to celebrate my birthday. I have finished most of the Toon gallery now. Only have about five more pieces of work to put into it then I can reveal it to the baying public.

19/01/2007
At the moment I am currently working on a few projects. Most notable of which is the Toon gallery subsection of the portfolio on this very website. It will be viewable very shortly. Promise! In the mean time please feel free to browse the ID and Photo Touch-up galleries.
